BUCK KNIVES. Inventiveness is a family legacy. ISD is the official importer of Buck Knives for Bulgaria. A young Kansas apprentice blacksmith named Hoyt Buck was looking for a better way to temper steel so that it would maintain a sharp edge for longer. His unique approach led to the creation of the first Buck knife in 1902. Hoyt crafted each knife by hand, using worn-out blades as raw material. His skilled craftsmanship was highly valued during World War II. Hoyt's eldest son, Al, moved from the Pacific Northwest to San Diego, California. Hoyt and his wife Daisy joined their son Al and his young family, and in 1945, they opened a shop called "H.N. Buck & Son." After his father's death, Al continued the handcrafting of knives and the business until the founding of the "BUCK Knives Inc." corporation in 1961. Over time, Al introduced his son Chuck to the knife business from a young age. When Chuck grew up, he and his wife Lori took part in the company’s establishment. In 1964, they introduced the revolutionary 110 Folding Hunter model, which made "Buck Knives" a leader in the field. Chuck led the company for many years before passing the reins to his son CJ in 1999. Chuck remained active as Chairman of the Board until his death in 2015. His legacy continues to this day.

For more than a century, Buck Knives has been creating knives that have become symbols of quality and craftsmanship. Their classic hunting knives offered functionality and style well ahead of their time, and still perform without complaint today. For 2021, Buck has upgraded the classic 100 series to offer users their favorite knives in higher-end materials. These famous classics now boast CPM-S35VN stainless steel and canvas Micarta handles for maximum performance.

Buck Knives founder’s, Hoyt Buck, first knife was made from a worn-out file blade in 1902. That knife was a fixed blade, and for many years, all Buck knives were fixed blades. Now, over 100 years later, Buck Knives continues to offer a comprehensive line of fixed-blade knives, ideal for field and general tasks. For the outdoorsmen who prefer the absolute solid feel of a fixed blade, Buck’s best selling model 119 Special sets the standard by which the others are measured. Based on this timeless design, Buck now has a 119 Special Pro featuring S35VN stainless steel and green canvas Micarta handles. This combination of materials offers the best grip with Buck’s premium steel to ensure maximum field performance.
